In this town, we call home, everybody hail to the pumpkin song
It’s that time of year again. October is the fun month of the year, where ghosts and ghouls are out and about and little children will be eaten by witches so that they can stay young forever!
Okay, maybe that’s more scary than fun but isn’t it awesome that Halloween is just around the corner? Back in the days with friends, everybody would be so excited in preparing what character we’re going to be for Halloween, we’ll try to get into the dance committee for the Halloween dance and basically, just having lots of fun and making lots of memories while we’re enjoying ourselves.
This year, Sunway Lagoon is bringing the Nights of Fright for the third year and it’s theme is the “Festival Of Fear“. Be prepared to be spooked out at Sunway Lagoon this Halloween, everyone!
Festival Of Fear
The Festival Of Fear in Sunway Lagoon returns again this year from 2nd, 3rd, 8th-10th, 15th-17th, 22nd-24th and 29th-31st October 2015, from 7.30pm till 11.30pm. The festival is only available on these dates due to the fact that Festival Of Fear is only opened at night in Sunway Lagoon and the attractions and rides for the Festival Of Fear are different than the day attractions and rides.
This year’s Night Of Fright brought Mr. Chaos again, the resident host who was also at last year’s Night Of Fright. However, this year he upped the ante by bringing more chaos and wedded Ms. Havoc. Everybody is invited to the wedding, of course. It’s either you can handle the chaos or not. In my case, I absolutely enjoyed the dance steps after the wedding. My type of Halloween wedding, of course.
Our first horror house entry was at Lynton V Harris Scream Park, the Kevil Hill where all the mutants are at. Best way to overcome your fear is to walk at the front of the group instead of the back. You won’t be bothered by the ghosts or the mutants much.
The best horror houses for me, is definitely at the Terrortory-X. There are a few horror houses here namely, Escape From Pudu 2, The Mummy’s Revenge Tomb of Terror (in 3D) and TOXIC – The Scariest Place Unearthed. My personal favourite of all the horror houses will definitely be “Toxic – The Scariest Place Unearthed”, most probably because it was out in the open, it was dark and eerie and it had a chainsaw massacre style setting. I was spooked and surprised a couple of times at this place.
This year, Sunway Lagoon imported a more scarier ghost, the Sadako Dori, who came straight from Japan. Be careful not to stand near the edge or she will just creep near you and spook the life out of you. Also, be careful not to look too long in the well. The Japanese Samurai in his full costume looked quite terrifying, especially if he quietly creeped up behind you and suddenly startle you from the back.
Then there’s the Death Port and Pirate Jack’s Locker O’ Lanterns, that just made some of the other people screaming and running into us.
Another thing about the Festival Of Fear are the rides. I didn’t try all the rides, because some of them are opened at specific times only and we were at other locations when they were open. My friend and I only rode the Pterodactyl, Cowboy Ride and the Pirate Ship. I think it was the best Pirate Ship ride I ever had in ages! My friend was crazy.
I tried the Tarot Card reading that night. Funny that the first card out of five that I picked was on Love. The reading she gave me was 90% accurate, not bad. Another best part for me was probably the ghosts walking around and near you. Freddy Kruger was one of my favourites – probably because he was my favourite childhood “Whatever you do, never fall asleep” antagonist. I can never forget Nightmare On Elm Street when Johnny Depp died in that waterbed.
Oh, and if you’re thirsty, quench your thirst with some of the blood bags sold around Sunway Lagoon. The cold blood tastes better. My favourite is definitely Type B blood. Well, I am a vampire after all.
Sunway Lagoon Night Of Fright 3 : Festival Of Fear
There’s still time for you to experience the Halloween atmosphere here in Sunway Lagoon. Halloween is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate it than to bring the family or come to Sunway Lagoon with a bunch of friends to ride on the attractions under the pale moonlight or to let your heart thump and scream at the scary ghosts and zombies in Sunway Lagoon?
If you’ve never been to the Night Of Fright before, then you definitely have to come here this year. All the amazing new horror houses and imported ghost, you’re definitely in for a one chilling good time!
